MICHELLE MARGOLIES TRAN, J.D.

Michelle Margolies Tran, senior counsel in Clark Hill’s Estate Planning and Probate Practice Group, focuses her practice in the areas of sophisticated estate planning for individuals, families, and businesses, using trusts and business entities to help her clients achieve their business succession, estate tax reduction, and asset protection goals.  She also assists clients with complex trust and estate administration issues, as well as in probate matters and prenuptial agreements. Michelle serves on Clark Hill's Diversity and Inclusion Committee.

Michelle is admitted to practice before the Arizona Supreme Court, the United States Tax Court, and the United States District Court in Arizona. She received her law degree from the Arizona State University College of Law in 1994, undergraduate degree from the University of California, San Diego, in 1991, and her Masters of Laws (LL.M.) in taxation from the University of Florida College of Law in 1995.

Michelle is a member of the State Bar of Arizona's Tax and Probate & Trust sections.  She is also a member of the JCF Professional Advisory Committee, The Arizona Community Foundation's Professional Education Committee, Valley Estate Planners, Arizona Women Lawyers Association, Women at the Top, Scottsdale Bar Association, and serves on the Steering Committee for the Arizona Chapter of Exiting Planning Institute.  Michelle is a 2015-2016 participant in the ADL’s Glass Leadership Institute for the Arizona Region and serves on the Board of Directors for United Cerebral Palsy of Central Arizona where she Co-Chairs the Development Committee.

attorney of Clark Hill PLC, an international law firm, has over three decades of law practice experience. Certified as a Tax Specialist by the Arizona Bar, Ms. Rayndon received her J.D. degree in 1974 from the University of Wisconsin Law School, Madison, Wisconsin and her LL.M. (Tax) degree in 1981 from Georgetown University Law Center, Washington, D.C. In 1988, Ms. Rayndon founded Rayndon Law Group PLC, a Martindale-Hubbell A-V rated firm. As of January 2015 the Rayndon Law Group, PLC merged into Clark Hill PLC. Ms. Rayndon's full-time work includes tax planning, business entity formation and representation, estate and wealth succession planning, estate and trust administration and fiduciary services, asset protection, real estate, and private securities offerings. She is also an Arizona Licensed Fiduciary.

Ms. Rayndon has served as pro bono legal counsel and board member for a variety of non-profit, charitable organizations. She presently is a member of the Women Presidents’ Organization, Central Arizona Estate Planning Council, the Current Tax Discussion Group, and Board of Trustees for Desert Botanical Garden and current chair of its Planned Giving Committee. Ms. Rayndon was the recipient of the Affordable Housing Program Pro Bono Award given in 1995 by the Arizona Bar Foundation for her volunteer efforts with tax-exempt entities, and she has served on Tempe Community Council, East Valley Community Bank Board of Directors, Vistage International, Arizona Club President and Director, and East Valley Boys and Girls Club Capital Campaign Committee.

A frequent lecturer, Ms. Rayndon is regularly invited to speak at seminars on estate planning and taxation, domestic and off-shore asset protection and corporate issues. Ms. Rayndon has published articles in national tax journals, taught many graduate level tax courses, and participated by invitation in nationally distributed taped educational programs for CPAs. She has also served as an expert witness in a variety of matters. Her first book, Your Life Your Legacy, A Legal Handbook, was published in January, 2014. She is currently working on her second book, which features planning ideas for high net worth families.
